School Day
Our school day begins with registration at 8.30am. Children who arrive after 8.45am should use the main entrance. Registers close at 8.45am and children arriving in class after this time will be marked late.
We are happy for parents to accompany their child into the classroom when children first begin school. However, as pupils progress through the school and the older children develop skills of independence, we encourage pupils to leave their parents at the gate.
We participate in the ‘Free Fruit Scheme’ and fresh fruit is available for every child in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 at morning break and milk is available for children under 5. Pupils are also given free access to drinking water at all times. Breaktime is at 10.45am – 11am.
Lunchtime is from 12pm to 12:45pm. At present school meals are £2.53 per day. We ask that you pay for school meals via the Arbor app. If you think your child is eligible for free school meals, please apply online using this link. https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/education-and-learning/schools/school-meals-and-milk
All children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a free school meal under the Universal Free School Meals programme. Children may bring a packed lunch as an alternative to cooked meals which are supplied by Ormesby Junior School.
At the end of the school day (3.15pm) all children must be collected from inside the school gate. Children in Years 4 to 6 may walk home unaccompanied on receipt of written permission from home.
Parents using cars are asked to park well clear of the zigzag markings and in such a way that it will not cause a hazard to other road users or inconvenience to local residents.
Please remember that dogs are not allowed in the school grounds or the school car park. It is also illegal to smoke anywhere in the school building or grounds.
