Nursery Information

Starfish Class

Starfish Class is made up of Nursery and Reception pupils. Children can join our Nursery from their third birthday. From the term after their third birthday, children are entitled to 15 hours of free nursery education, with some families eligible for 30 hours, depending on funding criteria. We are also able to accept children from the day they turn three, provided two-year-old funding is already in place.

Our Nursery sessions run:

  • Morning: 8:30am – 11:30am

  • Afternoon: 12:15pm – 3:15pm

Additional, non-funded sessions are available and are charged at £4.20 per hour. If your child stays for the lunch break, an additional charge of £4 will apply. If your child will need a school lunch then an additional £2.80will apply also.

Children spend the majority of their time in Starfish Class, which benefits from a fully integrated indoor and outdoor learning environment. At lunchtime and during outdoor play on the main playground, they join their peers and older pupils. Our older children play an important role in nurturing and supporting our youngest learners, and we actively encourage this strong sense of belonging, responsibility, and community. On occasion, children may also use the school hall or the larger playground for activities that require more space.

The Nursery is led by Mrs Wells, supported by a team of experienced Early Years staff who ensure high-quality provision and maintain strong adult-to-child ratios at all times.

When your child is ready to begin their Nursery journey, we aim to make the transition from home as smooth and positive as possible. Before your child starts, we will arrange a home visit, followed by a series of “pop-a-long” sessions, where you and your child are invited to spend time playing and exploring within Starfish Class together.
