A big thank you to all the parents and friends who joined us for our Leavers Assembly yesterday it was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the school year! Thank you to Rev Debs, Roy and Sandra for bringing gifts in for the Year 6 pupils from the church. Congratulations to all the children who achieved over 98% and over 96% attendance this year, as well as those who have improved their attendance a fantastic effort! Miss Williams proudly presented certificates to these children during the assembly. Special congratulations to: Molly-Rose, recipient of the Sandra Massingham Award Freddie, recipient of the Linda Shayler Award We would also like to wish Mrs Molloy good luck as she prepares to get married over the summer holidays. We are incredibly proud of all our Year 6 leavers and wish them the very best of luck as they begin their next exciting adventure in high school!

Sharks had a fin-tastic day last week in Hemsby. We took the public bus to the village and visited Richardson's for a go on the High Ropes before playing on the beach and cooling off with an ice cream. Then it was back to school for a pizza party and games!

A Big Thank You from Sharks! Sharks would like to say a huge thank you to Richardson's Hemsby Beach Holiday Park for kindly letting us enjoy some shade during our lunch yesterday, and to Bebe-Rai's for serving us the most delicious whippy ice creams – free of charge! Both gestures made our end-of-year trip that little bit cooler and a whole lot more special! Thank you so much for your generosity and support we truly appreciated it!

Thank You – Summer Fayre Success! A huge thank you to all of the Winterton Friends for organising an amazing Summer Fayre – and to everyone who came along and supported the event! Once again, it did not disappoint, and we're thrilled to share that over £900 was raised! The money will go towards supporting educational visits for our pupils, helping to create even more memorable learning experiences. Thank you for your continued support!

Leavers Disco – Friday 18th July We're excited to invite all children to our Leavers Disco on Friday 18th July from 4:30pm to 5:30pm! It's the perfect chance to celebrate the end of the school year and give a big send-off to our wonderful leavers. There'll be music, dancing, and plenty of fun! Refreshments will be available, and everyone is welcome to join the celebration. A big thank you to the Friends of Winterton Primary for organising this special event! Let's make it an afternoon to remember!

Congratulations to our children who achieved the Learning Characteristic of the Week and Citizen of the Week certificates. In Friday's Celebration Assembly, Mrs Waters presented these certificates to children, who have been chosen by their class teacher, for either excellent progress in a particular subject or for displaying one of our Learning Characteristics. During this assembly, we also celebrated good attendance and sporting achievements. Well done everyone!

Summer Fayre – This Friday! We're excited to announce that our Summer Fayre will take place on Friday 11th July, from 3:30pm to 5:00pm on the school grounds! To help us prepare, we'll also be holding a non-uniform day on the same day. In return, we kindly ask pupils to bring in a donation of sweets or soft drinks for our tombola stall. It promises to be a fun-filled afternoon with stalls, games, and refreshments for the whole family. We can't wait to see you there and make it a fantastic event together!

RNLI Water Safety Visit! This week, we were thrilled to welcome the RNLI into school for a fantastic day of water safety activities with our pupils! Each class took part in engaging and practical sessions where they learned how to stay safe around water – whether at the beach, by a river, or near a swimming pool. The children had the opportunity to explore real-life scenarios, learn key safety messages, and ask lots of great questions. The sessions were fun, interactive, and packed full of important life skills. A huge thank you to the RNLI team for helping our children become more confident and informed around water.

Inspiring Visit from a Great Athlete – Richard Potter! Friday 27th June was a truly memorable day at school as we welcomed an incredible guest – Richard Potter, Invictus Games competitor and true inspiration! Richard kicked off the day with a short sporting demonstration and got the children involved in some fun and engaging activities. Their excitement and energy were off the charts! Later, he led an inspirational assembly, sharing his powerful story of resilience – how he lost his leg in a football injury and turned that life-changing moment into a journey of determination and success. He proudly shared the medals he has won at the Invictus Games and invited thoughtful questions from the children, who were captivated by his honesty, bravery, and sense of humour. It was a day full of learning, motivation, and fun – and we are so thankful to Richard for showing our pupils that with courage and perseverance, anything is possible.
